Wow cool. Thanks for the nice words in the blog post, we are happy that some people find libgdx useful even though it still has some rough edges. Let us now how your journey went when you are done. If you publish a game we can include it on the project page over at google code as another example.

Btw, we support 3D and OpenGL ES 2.0 out of the box as well :)

Thanks a bunch. It seems to be a common misconception that libgdx is only for 2D games.

On your last paragraph: potential performance issues of yours are unlikely to be related to Java but more to how shitty the GPUs and especially the drivers on many Android phones are. The IOs devices all sport a PowerVR SGX of some form afair which is a lot better than those pescy Qualcomm chips.

The FAQ tries to clear up this misconception.
Is libgdx for 2D or 3D games?
