Migrating from MOE to RoboVM

Postby Guich » Fri May 10, 2019 1:49 am

Hi,

Seems that MOE is dead... no project updates since 2018... So i decided to migrate to RoboVM.

I created a new LibGDX sample selecting only iOS with RoboVM.
I downloaded the 2.3.6 plugin and installed on Android Studio (last).
I created a new RoboVM iOS project, selected attached device and selected my identity

However, i don't see any modules in the dropdown.
When i try to run, i get a NPE.

In Moe there was a way to open the project in xcode, but from what i saw, this is not possible in RoboVM, is this assumption correct?

thanks

Are you compiling the iOS build on an Apple device with macOS on it? Also, I think parts of the RoboVM code uses optimization, so while a bit faster than MoE, it will be harder to look at its insides.

Hi,

RoboVM failed to run with Android Studio 3.4. Got this error:
https://github.com/MobiVM/robovm/issues/242

Then i downgraded to AS 3.0, installed the 2.3.6 plugin, selected arm64 target, and after some compilation time the app ran in the iPhone 5!

Is anyone using RoboVM in AS 3.4?

There are some strange things. When i change a file i can't just call the run; i have to build:clean, then build:classes, and then run.

Am I missing something?
