Limit FPS while using the lwjgl3 backend

So the game I am working on is using the LWJGL3 backend, gdx version is 1.9.10

I am trying to limit the FPS without enabling VSync.

Without the LWJGL3 backend you would just set the ForegroundFPS in the DesktopLauncher but that function does not exist for lwjgl3.

I found setIdleFPS but that only applies to non-continous rendering which is not what I am doing.

I could just write my own Lwjgl3Application class that implements it but I would prefer not to do that.

Is there a way to limit fps with native libGDX tools or do I have to write something myself?

Note that I dont care about Android or MacOS.
